Developing Emotional Intelligence - How important is it.

We have got a lot of emotions in us.  We are not saints or sages not to have them right? Even if we are at the age of 25 or 45 or 65, we have got the remainder of life to make it pleasant. We all know that it is very difficult, rather not possible to change the attitude of others unless they wish to, but we can change our own attitude towards them by overcoming our emotions. Is this small logic not sufficient to make ourselves super pleasant and peaceful? It becomes our own responsibility to make the remainder of our life beautiful. Yeah, taking a few steps, we can absolutely fill our normal life with pleasantness and thus peacefulness. 

It is very important for us to identify what emotions we are dominated with. It may be from the list of positive emotions that give pleasure while experiencing love, joy, satisfaction, interest, contentment, gratitude etc.? Or it may be from the list of negative emotions that give unpleasant feelings while experiencing fear, hatred, anger, resentment, sadness, loneliness, annoyance etc.? We need to understand one important thing: sometimes the negative emotions encourage us to act accordingly, and help us grow and develop. We need to experience the negative emotion but not stay with it for a long time. It is here we need to make ourselves more intelligent in dealing with it. IS IT SO EASY TO overcome the negative emotions? No, It is difficult but not unachievable. Only when we start taking steps towards it, do we change our perception.   

Some of you who are reading this may be stuck with some of those negative emotions. If not dealt with, you go deeper into it and get hurt more. 


Deriving Happiness - Is It So Easy. 

 #Happiness has a lot of significance in our lives. We focus most of our life doing VERY BIG THINGS like setting up a business, getting a good job, earning lots of money, building a multi-storey house, achieving dreams/lifegoals etc. to accomplish such happiness. That’s really great but realizing that with VERY SMALL ACTIVITIES also we can achieve cent percent happiness is worth living our life to the fullest.

We can define our own happiness. It's definition is different for each of us.  Right from morning till we go to sleep there are many things that can make us happy. 

  1. Waking our kids up with a sweet smile, greeting them a happy morning. 

  2. Embracing them after they return from school or after we return from work.

  3. Having a leisure dinner with family. 

  4. On Sunday, watching a movie on OTT or playing a game with our family. 

  5. Visiting a temple once in a while, sitting there for sometime peacefully with our family. 

  6. Talking on the phone with our parents at least for a minute daily to find how they are. 

  7. Watering a plant, watching a flower blooming in our garden, a bird/butterfly seeking the honey from a flower. 

  8. Listening to a favorite song and making small moves. 

  9. Reading a good book sitting on a balcony or lawn with a few plants around and sipping tea. 

  10. Telling a story or teaching something important to our children. 

  11. Walking and chit chatting on the terrace in the moonlight after dinner with your partner or kids or parents. 

  12. Cooking our favorite dish once in a while.

  13. Experiencing absolute positivity after dusting our home and performing our everyday ritual. 

***Sometimes making others happy will make us happy like 

  1. Visiting our parents or parent-in-laws or grandparents.

  2. Wishing someone on their birthday through a 2 min talk on phone. 

  3. Giving out a few food packets at least once in a year to the beggars on road.

  4. Forgiving who we didn't like gives more happiness than anything else. (My next article)


Many more like these. No end for it. You may have different list like exercising, travelling, Sports etc. Give yourself some time to write the list. If you feel lazy 😜then count them on your finger tips. Your list goes on increasing point by point and you recognize yourself as a super happy person. Let's not stop, let's keep updating our list by identifying such very small activities that give us a lot of happiness. It doesn't even cost us much right. Then why should we fail to make ourselves more and more happy? 😍 Let’s Live Life to the Fullest.
